Summer Sessions in San Antonio

San Antonio Family Photographer

I know.. we live in Texas. It’s hot.

It’s been getting up to 85 to 90 degrees and it already feels so hot.

But I do want to offer some session options for summer.

Summer Sessions in the Water

You’re probably already going to the splash pad or pool/lake with your kids. Now you can bring me along and capture some really fun moments of your family.

You can pair this with a family session and then have the kids change and have fun in the water, or just have me come along for part of your summer fun.

What is family lifestyle photography?

As a mom, capturing candid moments of my boys, Ethan Jacob and Andrew Jeremiah, growing up has been so fulfilling.

From their first moments in the hospital to walking and now playing and wrestling together and all the in between has been so much fun.

San Antonio Botanical Garden | Family Photography

I hadn’t been to the San Antonio Botanical Garden in forever, and I’m not sure if I’ve even photographed here before.

So when Bianca, my longtime client, asked to go to take family photos, I was all about it. I love exploring new spots.

We went during winter and right after the snow storm, and even so, it was green and vibrant!

The best way to get amazing photos for a great price

san Antonio photography

Mother’s Day is almost here (May 9), so this means it’s time for Motherhood Sessions!

Motherhood Minis are 30 minute sessions just for moms and your babies.

Isn’t it true that we always get great photos of our husband and kids or just kids? But how many times do we get in front of the camera? And everyone is smiling…

Yup! Usually never, unless it’s a quick selfie.

Let me handle getting everyone to look at the camera and capture those intimate moments of you and your babies (without having to convince dad to come along haha).

What I Learned From My Social Media Break

Social media breaks can be so beneficial, and if you’ve never done one, I encourage you to incorporate them regularly. I plan to.

At the beginning of the year, I felt God tug on me to do this break. I had done them for a few hours or half a day. I had done it with Facebook, where I deleted the application, but then found myself consumed with YouTube. I knew I needed a complete shut off from all of the voices that were coming at me.

I needed to shut off all of the commentary, opinions, sellers, trends, competitors.

I needed to shut it all off because I was having a hard time hearing the voice of the One who matters.

He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

It’s Andrew’s birthday today, and I felt like writing a short reflection about this day because it’s more than just a birthday for me. It’s a reminder of what I went through.

Andrew is a promise fulfilled. It’s amazing to be able to hold a tangible promise in my arms. And the fact that he is a literal ball of joy is simply wonderful.

He is such a gift to our family and I’m just so grateful to God for being so faithful in this journey of motherhood — the good and difficult.

Happy New Year, See You Soon!

[ I’m still taking San Antonio Family Photography sessions! ]

san antonio family photography

Hello, Happy New Year and also goodbye!

Not really but yes really.

As I was asking God for a word for 2021, I heard him say: contentment.

At first I brushed it off. As an enneagram 1, I’m all about productivity and getting things done, and contentment sounded to be like settling or doing nothing.

But God quickly changed my perspective. He said: I want you to find contentment in me above all else; to be satisfied; to come to me, the well of living water, when you’re thirsty.

It is hard to admit, but I’ve been going to the wrong well. I’ve been going to the Instagram well for gratification, likes, well done’s, and good job’s.

I think it’s hard for anyone who’s job is on social media where there is reward in gaining followers and attention.

So, it’s time for a little break.

Family Mini Sessions | San Antonio Photography

Surprise! I am offering family mini sessions this December.

Every year I get a few families who just want photos for a Christmas card, and I love doing them for my family and friends, so I will be offering this option for my clients.

I don’t usually do family minis because I love to take my time and really get some intimate moments, but I totally understand not everyone has the time or means to do a full session.
